For just the right dose of upbeat colour, head to the perfectly curated Kïn collection by John Lewis. Yes it’s a sweatshirt shape, but the colour, the fabric and indeed the cut make this a real ‘go to’ of a piece to dress up a print or to throw on with jeans. The Stylish Stuff Beauty Notes….

Make up artist Elaine Lynskey prepped our model Gabrielle’s skin with Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream £24, working it into the skin lightly with her fingertips, she then evened out any redness or imperfections with a touch of Bare Mineral’s brilliant Complexion Rescue £27, John Lewis, using it only where it was needed. For the striking hit of cobalt on the eyes, Elaine used Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner in Chaos £17, applying it directly to the roots of the lashes. She then made a thicker line using the applicator and faded the colour out towards the corners of the eye using a thin brush. (earrings Wolf & Moon as before.)

Fresh glowing skin with just a hit of colour.

For a more neutral daywear look, Elaine gave the eyes a wash of shadow using RMS Swift Shadows in ‘Tempting Touch’ £15, Net-a-Porter. This product, she says, glides on and blends easily using an Illamasqua Blending Brush (IL185) £22.50, Illamasqua.

B&O Play – we interrupt this feed for a headphones moment with these chic outfit finishing must haves. Meet the H4 over-ear headphones, £249, Beoplay.
