THE STYLISH STUFF: OOOH LA LA

It’s pretty likely that the latest heatwave to rock the British Isles WAS our summer, but just in case a holiday abroad may still be on the horizon for you, today’s post brings you a little taste of inspiration, St Tropez style. Back in March, The Stylish Stuff pre-empted swimwear-shopping traumas with our ‘In the swim of it’ post – one for people like me, who often panic-shop the day before jetting off. IF ONLY Mimi Holliday Swimwear had been ready to shoot at that time. This is Bardot-esque, beautiful and flirty swimwear from the woman who coined the term ‘Bottom Cleavage’ and went on to shake up the lingerie market with an entirely new genre of beautiful bras and delectable knickers. Damaris Evans founded her namesake brand back in 2001 and created Mimi Holliday, it’s cheeky little sister in 2003. This summer sees the very first swimwear collection from the label, which, from the bow-backed bikini bottoms to the chic cotton beach dresses, is suitcase fodder that jetsetters everywhere will just adore. It’s inspired by Damaris’s holidays at her home in the South of France and her favourite novella ‘Bonjour Tristesse’ by Françoise Sagan. Set in 50’s St Tropez, it inspired the choice of Lege-Cap-Ferret as a location for the shoot, and you can also find the book online alongside the collection to purchase. So, without further ado and to get you in the mood for a little beach time, we present an exclusive set of images showcasing our favourite pieces. The spirit of summer in one little feed. You’re welcome…

Mimi lingerie can be wild and fun, however with beachwear, I wanted the launch of the collection to be classic, chic and timeless in all our favourite shapes – I can’t believe we haven’t done it before!”
